Plastic crusher CE documentation should be reviewed as part of the machine purchase, not requested after shipment. CE marking is not a general quality certificate. It indicates that the responsible manufacturer has followed the applicable EU conformity process for the specific product.
As of October 2026, Directive 2006/42/EC remains the main machinery framework. Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 is scheduled to apply from 20 January 2027. Buyers should confirm the framework applicable when the exact machine is placed on the EU market and whether other Union legislation also applies.
Identify the Applicable Framework and Product Boundary
Start by defining whether the purchase is complete machinery, partly completed machinery or a line assembled from several products. The answer affects the declaration, instructions and responsibility for final integration. Control panels, drives and connected apparatus may also bring other applicable requirements, including electromagnetic compatibility.
This procurement checklist is not legal or conformity-assessment advice. The manufacturer, importer, integrator and buyer should confirm their obligations for the actual configuration, market date and Member State.
Request a Model-Specific Document Package
| Document or evidence | Buyer verification | Common warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Declaration of Conformity | Manufacturer, model, identification and applicable legislation match | Generic declaration unrelated to the supplied machine |
| Risk-assessment evidence | Hazards, protective measures and residual risks are addressed | Checklist with no connection to the actual design |
| Instructions | Installation, operation, maintenance and residual-risk information are usable | Manual copied from another model or missing language plan |
| Technical-file responsibility | Responsible party and retention process are defined | No identified person or process for authority requests |
| Applied standards and tests | References and results match the configuration | Logos or certificates without scope and model identity |
| CE marking and nameplate | Identity and markings agree with the declaration and machine | Mismatched model, serial number or responsible manufacturer |
Treat CE as a Process, Not a Label Purchase
The responsible manufacturer must determine applicable requirements, perform the appropriate conformity assessment, prepare technical documentation and instructions, issue the applicable declaration and affix the CE marking. Third-party involvement depends on product classification, applicable legislation and the conformity route; it is not automatically required or automatically sufficient.
For a customized WHC1000/600 plastic crusher, any change to guarding, controls, feeding, discharge or line integration should be reflected in the final risk and document review. A certificate for a component does not establish conformity of the completed machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is CE marking the same as third-party certification?
No. CE marking reflects the applicable conformity process and manufacturer responsibility. The required assessment route depends on the product and legislation.
Should the buyer receive the complete technical file?
Not necessarily. The responsible manufacturer must maintain the required technical documentation for competent authorities, while the buyer should receive the declaration, instructions and agreed evidence.
Does a component CE mark cover the complete crusher?
No. The completed machine must be assessed as a system, including integration, controls, guarding and residual risks.
Which machinery framework applies during the 2026–2027 transition?
Confirm the date the product is placed on the EU market and obtain current professional advice on the applicable framework and transition provisions.
What should an EU buyer send before requesting documents?
Send the final configuration, intended use, installation country, line interfaces, language needs, delivery schedule and responsible economic operators.
