This industrial machine is a dry-type scrap copper wire granulator and separator, an integrated system designed to recycle waste electrical cables by mechanically separating high-purity copper from plastic insulation.
This “dry” method relies on physical crushing and airflow rather than water or chemicals, making it an environmentally friendly recycling solution.
Core Components and Functions
The system integrates several specialized modules into a single, compact footprint:
-
Feeding Hopper (Yellow): The entry point where raw, insulated scrap wires (up to 20–25mm in diameter) are introduced.
-
Main Crusher/Chopper: Uses high-speed rotating blades—often made of SKD-11 steel—to chop wires into small granules, typically 3–5mm in size.
-
Airflow Separator: A high-pressure fan blows through the crushed mixture. Since copper is much denser than plastic, the air lifts the lighter plastic bits while the heavy copper granules drop to the bed.
-
Vibrating Separation Bed: This table uses gravity and vibration to further refine the material, guiding clean “copper rice” to the front outlet and plastic pellets to the rear.
-
Dust Collection System (Grey/Blue Unit): An integrated filtration system (bag or pulse dust collector) that captures fine particles to maintain a clean workspace.
-
PLC Control Panel: The interface used to manage the power and adjust vibration and airflow speeds for optimal purity.
Critical Maintenance Tips
To maintain high purity and machine longevity, follow these guidelines:
-
Blade Maintenance: Crusher blades are wearable parts; they should be sharpened or replaced if they become dull, which is indicated by a drop in crushing efficiency.
-
Sieve Cleaning: The internal screens (3mm–5mm) should be cleaned regularly to prevent dust and plastic buildup from blocking essential airflow.
-
Lubrication: Add new grease to the crusher bearings and other moving parts approximately every 8 to 40 hours of operation to ensure smooth performance.
-
Magnetic Pre-sorting: If processing automotive wire, it is highly recommended to use a magnetic separator at the input stage to remove iron, which can severely damage the granulation blades.
The model QJ-800 scrap or wast copper wire or cable separator is specializing for scrap copper wires or cables separating and recycling. This machine with PCL control system, can recycling 99% copper from scrap copper wires/cables.
